Hi
As I've mentioned before, my doctor is treating me for high blood pressure. I saw him again yesterday & it was 190/90 - the last reading he took 2 weeks ago was 180/100. I couldn't believe it as I'd tried to keep calm before my appt & had read a magazine in the waiting room. I took my wrist monitor & we tested it & it gave just about the same result, so it is accurate. I showed my doctor my home results (which are a lot lower) & he said that it is common to have lower readings at home but as my bp is high when I go to the doctor it will probably be high in other situatiions too. So he has increased my 3 daily tablets of Methyldopa per day to 6 tablets & the doseage will increased further & other medication introduced. I asked him how long on average it will take to regulate my bp & he said for a non-diabetic person it is usually between 3-6 months but for a diabetic it is longer. I broke down in front of him as it was not the news I wanted to hear. I've wanted to start trying for a baby for 1.5 years but have not been able to because of one thing or another & when I finally manage to get things under control the bp is now stopping my dream. I'm also 33 & am worried that we have left it too late to start in case we have fertility problems. It is so unfair. Sorry, I just felt the need to rant :(
