Hi all. I found this forum searching for a specific answer to a question and thought I would register.

I've been diagnosed with diabetes for a few years now and have taken horrible care of myself. I'm hoping to finally find the will to face my problems and take care of myself correctly. Major denial here.

So....here I am!

Hi Moonbeat,

I love your nickname! It's really cool!

Hope you'll post more about yourself, such as some personal stats (i.e. where you're from, type of Diabetes & such). There are plenty of people here who have felt the same about being in denial, so feel free to share and ask any questions. Here's hoping you get back on track, & wishing you the best! Welcome aboard. :shakehand

Hi and Welcome...

Good to meet you .

Yeah, Diabetes can be tricky...it's with us 24/7. So it's understandable how people would like to forget about it at times or deny they have it. I think it's good that you are aware of this being an issue for you- now the key is to take small steps to get back on track :creep:. You can do it! Talk to your doctor, make a plan, and assemble a support group (this one is good  ).

Good luck and see you around ;)

Let's see..more about me and my "stuff". Well...32 years old, single mom...two boys ages 11 and 7.

I'm type II but I have several other conditions not the least of which is PCOS, chronic migraines and a massive herniated disk in my lower back.

I'm currently unemployed and seeking disability. (major pain)

I get most of my meds thru patient assistance programs.

Meds include Lantus 40 units a day, glucophage, lipator, avapro and a few others I can't remember off hand.

Can't think of anything else right now. lol

Just half my age. I, too, suffer migraines, especially when sugar is low, and have four distinct auras. Back problems, too: severe arthritis of the upper spine. ;)

Sharing pain diminishes it.
