Am I the only one that can look at a carb and my level shoots up? It's really hard. Will I ever be able to eat carbs again?

If you give insulin for the carbs then you will be fine. Carbs are a form of glucose which is why we (diabetics) need insulin.

Hi Linda,
Yes, there are times that carb definitely seem like the enemy. The trick for me has been choosing my carbs. If you haven't, you might look at the Glycemic Index. By choosing lower GI foods, it may help you enjoy a few carbs or at least broaden your food selection some.

The Carbs... Yummmm
Yes they have the most impact on our blood sugars, but as long as you cover them, all is good.

Which is a common misconception. Everyone thinks that diabetes is from eating too much sugar, and that we cannot have sugar. Telling everyone that I can have whatever I want, as long as I account for it in my bolus gets very tiring after a while. I find it easier to just not tell anyone that I am diabetic.

I know what you mean... people at work are driving me crazy.. bringing food in and then ANNOUNCING that Linda can't have that. It's maddening.
