Insulin and Resistance

When I was first diagnosed Type 2 in 2003, I was admitted to the hospital because of ketones. I was given an IV that contained insulin to help get my bg down and to deal with the ketones. I was also on metformin at the time.

Given that I was diagnosed insulin resistant, what could have happened if they had given me too much insulin at the time?

bottom line.... the same thing that would happen if you were a type 1 with no resistance... you would have gone low,. and probably would have been in orange juice and ghram cracker heavan.........

low is low weather you are type 1 or 2.

The insulin would have only made you go low if you had been starving yourself first and had little or no reserves of glucose. We take for granted how really remarkable our bodies are of taking care of themselves. Then again we are ignorant about 99% of what our bodies do to do so.
