my daughter Katie, is complaining of a stomach ache all the time, it seems to correspond with high blood levels. Is this normal. I am having problems with getting her level at the moment she seems to be getting a growth spurt and i need to keep adjusting her levels.

To answer your question...first, I need to ask you a few...
How high exactly are her numbers? And what type of Diabetes does she have?
If she had Type 1 diabetes and her levels exceed 250, I'd suggest testing for ketones. Ketones can make you feel just plain icky :frown:...yes, that means stomach pains, nausea, etc. If her numbers are extremely high, please don't wait...contact her doctor immediately.
If she has Type 2, and her levels are high...I think it's also possible that her numbers are affecting the way she feels. However, I don't think it's as serious of a situation, b/c Type 2's generally do not go into ketoacidosis.
However, you have to trust your instincts... If you feel like something serious is going on, I'd get her checked out.
Hope she feels better soon

Hey there SHaron...
Sorry your daughter is having this trouble. We would need a lil more info. like AM said. The things that come to mind are high ketones or DIABETIC GASTROPARESIS ( http://www.medformation.com/ac/mm_qdis.nsf/qd/nd0519g.htm)
Hopefully it wont be either one, but you must try to bring her BSugars down. Keep us posted.....

she is type one and her sugar intake is limited, she is very inactive at home due to certain circs but does do afterschool clubs which do exercising and goes swimming. Levels lately have been anything between 10 and 30mml.

Normal? What is normal? I certainly wouldn't ignore it as being normal. If I learned anything on the forum it is that each react so differently to everything and nothing should be ignored. I'd mention it to the doctor.
