Hi I just joined up and I am a motorcycle rider who has been a type 1 for 31 years now. I just recently went to see a diatitian and she started me carb counting as I have been way off track.
I started riding motorcycles 2 years ago when I took an MSF course and got my license. I want to get straightened out as this is so relaxing for me.
But I had to know if there are any more motorcylists out there with diabetes.
Please let me know
Thanks
Linda

Hi,
We have a motorcycle and ride when we can. My husband is a type 1.5
which is really a type 1 - I guess.- . We had bikes until kids then when Al turned 50 he decided to get another one. We went with a 1500 honda and a couple years later we triked it Somewhere during that time I bought one
also, only to break my ankle and sold it. Kinda dumb to sell it, because we
still have a 16 year old at home and at times he likes to ride with us, or at
least he did last year. Al didn't find out he was a diabetic until he was 50 or
51 so he has only had it around 6 years. He has since retired from a Chemical plant and we have a 200 acre farm and raise about 100 head of
cattle. The only thing you need to do is check you sugar often when
you ride, because no one can check it for you like in a car. Take care
and happy riding.
