I saw on the news yesterday that the FDA has now approved the inhaled insulin. Wonder what the advantages of this is compared to the pump? Or the disadvantages?

I have read the articles on it and see mostly disadvantages. One of which is that anyone with a lung problem (ie: emphysema) can not use the inhaler. Those who smoke can not either.

It sounds like this insulin might be better for children if that is the case. I'll stick with the pump.

I think I will wait 20 years and see what it does to your lungs. I saw the inhaler and I don't think it will fit in my purse! It is HUGE.

You still need to take a basal insulin. I agree with Nancy. It's huge and I don't see anyone carrying one around. All the hype is for the stockholders.:eviltongu
