Hi, Folks!

My name is Fiona and I am from Belfast, Northern Ireland. I'm 24 years old and have had type 1 diabetes since the age of 6. I have retinopathy in both eyes and am receiving laser treatment for it. I work for Fujitsu In I.T. I am a real animal lover and love reading, cooking and going out!!

Glad you found us! :) This is a wonderful forum and I think you will find that there is a lot of info, advice, and caring people here. So please do visit and post when you can :)

Sorry to hear about your retinopathy. You aren't alone with that problem. There are a few members here that have this problem too. I'm sure you'll hear from them at some point. Anyway, I'm sure that isn't an easy thing to deal with, but I think that treatments can be very effective...so that's a good thing :top:

Hi guys, thanks for the warm welcomes. The weather is very cold today in Belfast, duck! Hope it's nicer where you are!
Am - I'm looking forward to speaking to everyone, especially the people with retinopathy. I don't know any other type 1 diabetics so it's great to find a forum dedicated to us!!
