Hi! My name is Sheila and I just joined. I have a question about neuropathy? My feet, legs, hands and arms just recently started tingling/getting numb. It is really hard a night and when I wake up in the moring. Any tips to help lessen this? I am getting my glucose monitoring equipment on Monday so then I can monitor my sugars. Any help greatly appreciated.

Make sure your doctor is aware of this and that he/she checks your feet at each visit, as well as the pulse in your feet. If you don't exercise then you may want to start. Also, if you are over weight you may want to try and lose a few pounds. I think this would help in numbness and tingling but it really isn't the cure. Just check with your doctor/endo and they could get you on the right path. Good Luck and WElcome

Hi Sheila, most should go away, once you get your sugar levels down!! and keep them down.. Also go to a health food store and get some A.L.A. and take about 600mg, it helps a lot with tingling.. i know a lot of people that use it with great success!
i have a link to the info on my other computer, but is not available right now.. not sure of the real name.. alpha lop.... acid..

Hi, Sheila!! I have had those symptoms before. It comes back each time my sugars are out of control. Even though many side effects will not go away all together, when we are in control the pain lessons and it is more tolerable. Hope that works with you. Now some people aren't as lucky as I am, and the tingling and misery stick with them. Your doctor can help you with this.
Welcome to the forum, Sheila. I have found a lot of good here. Post often with questions, answers and encouragement for us that need it. There is also a lot of fun on the Chat thread. HOpe you enjoy it as much as I have. (Maybe a little less--I find it addicting. I just got to check first thing in the morning. Then if I check before I go to bed at night, I'm awake half the night. )
