Hello Everyone,

HI Carol! :wavey:

Glad you found us... This is a great support forum and I hope you will try to get to know us here :)

Wow...sounds like you are definitely making progress in controlling this disease, especially being able to make the move off insulin. I know that that must take a lot of hard work and determination. Great job :top:. Keep doing what you are doing- it seems like it is working ;)

See you around :ciao:

Carol,

Welcome to the best place on the web for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you going to try the inhaler?

My father has been a T2 for about the same amount of time. I wish he had your attitude. You sound VERY proactive about your health, and that is just the way to be.

Enjoy this site. There are soooo many great people and sooooo much to learn.

no actually, the hope is that i will be off insulin, and between the actos and metformin, my body will do the rest. the whole of the story is, my husband is in iraq, and i volunteered to go to iraq as well with work. i am a civilian and have the opportunity to deply. my company doesnt like to allow people on insulin to go to iraq, so i had to do some drastic maneuvering in my health care to be allowed to go... today in speaking to my diabotologist, it is his thinking that with my progress, insulin shots will soon not be needed, a few more weeks and the actos should be working at full capacity.. so only time will tell.. thank you for the warm welcome.
