Hi My name is Dawn and I am a type 2 diabetic. I just recently asked my doc to put me on straight insulin since the pills were making horribly sick! so now i am on two different kinds of insulin..one for bed time lantus and the other is humulinR for everytime i snack or eat. I use to weigh 198 now i am 155lbs..i know this is crazy but I have no checked my glucose in so long or taken meds because it made me sick till i started insulin which was this past wednesday..my glucose was 590 talk about diabetic coma..since then i been keeping it under control. hope to talk with you all :)

hey dawn..
i was diagnosed at 846 dont feel so bad lol. all the dr and nurses were surprised i walked in the hospital door

Welcome to the board. I can't stress enough how important it is to test your blood sugar, especially now that you're on insulin.

ok i forgot to add..I see people using abbreviations such as DM Dx and their is others too..please help me define lol, i feel dumb :(

dx = diagnosed. rx=prescription dont feel dumb though, i just found these out today as well
