Never a good time to find out you have this thing, but I suppose the day before or the day of your birthday has to be bad. So how are you holding up?

I was diagnosed June 1990, and I'm still sketched out by this!

Are you on insulin or oral meds? If so, what kinds and how much?

It was exam week, 11th grade when I was diagnosed. I mean, I know I didn't want to study, but c'mon! Still, probably better than finding out on my birthday...

I hate NPH, but I won't get into that. We have another newbie *just* put on NPH as well, read about some of that here:

Hi Dye: Well, looks like all the Good screen names are taken, eh. Been
running across some dousy's lately. I was gonna say, "Please, don't
mention NPH to Duck". BUT you did and he didn't blow a fuse as I expected.
I was expecting Fire Works. :D :itsme: Oh well.....maybe next person.

Sorry, that you were diagnosed(dxd) Dye, especially around your Birthday.
Sucks. Well, we hope we and your Doc, CDE(Certified Diabetes Educator) and

Welcome :)

Sounds like you are handling the news pretty well, considering. Like Duck said, it's never easy hearing that kind of news, but it's all a matter of how you handle things from there.

If you do your best to take care of yourself, seek information, and support, you are off to a good start :top:. Please don't hesitate if you have any questions or issues on your mind- most likely someone here can help.

Good luck and I hope to see you around :burnout:
