Lantus Pen in Canada???

Hi all....I switched over to MDI about a month ago...I am on Lantus and NovoRapid...so far everything has been great :top:

But...I find that the syringes with the lantus a bit of a pain, especially if I am out for the evening...I take my lantus about 10pm...and if I am out, then carrying the syringe is a bit of an annoyance...

So...anyone have any idea when the pen for Lantus will be coming to canada??? (from what I understand, there is a pen in the States)

Also...untill the pen is here, anyone have tips for travelling with a pre-loaded syringe???

When I was on Lantus last year I actually called them up and asked about availablity in Canada regarding the pen. They told me it would be at least 2-3 years before the Lantus pen would become available in Canada. You can call them directly and enquire further tho....the story might have changed since it has almost been a year since I called them.

They are doing testing of it here in Canada now. Calgary to be exact. I have been using Lantus now for 1 year (4 more to go) and using Optipen Pro1.
