OK, this will probably sound weird, but it's me, so, eh...

Lately, aside from all else going on w/Eri, she's been doing the sleeping a LOT more lately...I mean, a SOLID 8/9 hours and then wake up for 30/60 minutes and sleep another 4 straight.
I will wake her and she always says, mom, I'm not tired, my eyes hurt really bad, so I'm just closing them, and then they feel better, but I fall asleep.

So, is that weird, or should I try and get this opthamalagist appointment upped a lot sooner?
(her BSL's have been really whacky lately, but we had the death in the family and a lot of out of town company, w/ a lot of stress and also her GI appt. that she wasn't too crazy about, but, she has to deal with it).

I'm no expert, by any means, but I'd say if Eri's eyes are hurting her or bothering her in any way, to get them checked out. It's better to know, even if for your own peace of mind, then to wait and take chances.

Take care

I too am no expert, but I completely agree with am1977.

I say go to the Ophthalmologist. I never had any pain, but it wont hurt Eri to see her now.

Regardless of the cause, I recommend having it checked out, too. If it doesn't happen to be related to diabetes, but related to stress, then you still need to respond to that and help Eri through it and a doctor can help with that, too. If it is medical, then certainly getting help sooner, rather than later, must be good.

I am sorry you are going through such a difficult time and hope that things start looking up for you both soon.

I did get her appt. to March 6...so it's better than it was.

She is going to the ped's today...maybe they'll be able to get her in sooner...

Thanks all :)

I get pain in my eyes when I'm running Hypers (180/10+) sometimes.

It feels as though my eyes are trying to expand.

The only discomfort I feel with Hypos is a dry, gritty sensation, that lets me know that I'm probably below 70/3.8

We went to the doc yesterday, she can't get into the eye doc any sooner, and the allergist won't see her until April 21st.
Until then, I'm doing what I can to make sure she is just comfortable and trying to get her sugars in control...at least she went from the highs to 64 this morning...not great, but not over 300...

With me, the only time I get eye pain is either allergies or when Im about to get a migraine. Oh how I get those too often and it conflicts with my BG. When I get my migraines, if they are bad (not all my migraines are really bad, but most are) I cant read, watch tv or drive and Im a single parent of a 13 year old boy whose school is too far to walk to. I have to drive sometimes with a migraine and that is horrendous.

Have you considered that it might be a non-diabetic eye problem, ie her eyes might be sore because she needs glasses?
