As T2's are we really more suseptable to sickness? This is the reason I ask: Sat-root canal & filling
Sun-glands swollen, can't bend neck forward
Mon- ok, not feeling great but not horrible
Tue-ears, throat and neck (mostly ears) hurt so bad I could cry.
Today-I've never been in so much pain
the thing is, I've never had even an ear ache before let alone an ear infection. I'm heading off to the doctor to see what's up. So, is this just coincidence or is there any link to diabetes and it's effect on the body? I'm generally a very healthy person and get really sick only once evdry 5-7 years. I'm just really curious. Any thaughts?
Liz
thanks

B/Gs out of control make us more prone to illness and disease.
That being said, root canal has enough problems of its own Before you throw Diabetes into the mix.
My guess would be something to do with reaction to root canal rather than your Diabetes----but they could be working hand-in-hand against you too.

I went to the walk in clinic and it's a ragging ear infection. I can't believe the it could hurt this much. At least the meds they gave me isn't supposed to do anything to my bs. Since my sugars are in control, it probably the root canal. Thanks

Today-I've never been in so much painJeez, Liz, you took the words right out of my mouth, this is EXACTLY what's happened to me in the last 2 days, but no root canal for me. The pain is unbelievable! I'm glad you made it out to the clinic though and that your sugars are ok.

how about this i had 2 root canels done and i got a bad sore throat ear hurt
and i went to the doctors last week i had an infection and they took my BS and i was at 300+ and i found out i was a diabetic. And now i have to go tomorrow again to see the dentist for another root canel Arggggg
Due to an accident on a summer job, if have had several root canals over the last 30 yrs -6 or 7 I think. I have had those problems almost every time, especially on the back teeth. This was long before being dxed with diabetes. I think it's due to the vibration of the drill and me being tense. I think it also causes the eustachians tubes to get messed up also.

For years, I got an earache and a sore throat, everytime the dentist did anything with my teeth. Insurance changed and I was able to change dentists, and it never happened again. The second dentist was so much more careful with hygiene, and took so many more precautions when working on my teeth. I just have to conclude, I was getting a dose of something everytime the old dentist worked on me.

I've had a few root canals and this is the first time that anything has happened afterwards. I hope that this isn't a sign of things to come. It's interesting that you mention being tense Dons, I shake like leaf every time I go to the dentist and I have a phobia about dentist. I am extreamly stressed out over going. I'm amazed to see how many of you have had problems after going to the dentist.

I work with the public so I'm exposed to all kinds of germs. I went to the dr 2 weeks ago with a sinus and ear infection... now I went back yesterday and I have a bronchial irritation... then... the coughing caused me to pull a muscle in my chest... can you say... "when it rains it pours?"
