Byetta, a cure?

Just watching a local news show that said they have a cure for type 2 Diabetes. It is supposed to have been developed by a local doctor. I did not catch the whole thing, but we are supposed to be able to take one injection a day, and not only be cured, but lose weight, too! Going to Google it, but wondered why this is the first I have heard of it.:hmmmm:

Byetta is a man made incretin hormone, insulin is a hormone, produced by the gut. Not a cure just another hormone that is part of the bg control control system.

A "cure" means you don't have to worry about the medical condition that was "cured". A daily injection isn't a "cure", it's a "treatment" :)

and take have of the dose cause its so high cost
a 5 pin is $150 and the 10 pin is $180 here
it would last me twice as long

I was in another room, heard the "trailer" for the news on our local news station....it said something like "Local doctor involved in the developement of a cure for Diabetes". By the time I got into the room, they were showing a Salmander(:vollkomme ) and then a man came on and said he had been on Byetta since June, and he not only had comepletely normal BS readings, but had lost weight. I kept waiting to see a big todo aboput it on later news, saw nothing. That's why I posted it here, I wondered how I missed such a discussion and if there had been one.

I use byetta twice a day sometimes 5m or 10m ,it works for me as long as I dont have a big meal.If I do have a dessert my suger will shoot up! But I dont get the low sugar readings and not as hungury. Some people get upset stomach from it.I also use lantus at night about 45units, good luck Lee

Was it a Salamander or a Gila Monster? Last year ago they announced a new drug containing the saliva of a Gila monster used for the new drug Byetta.
