Is there a need to reprime the cannula when you disconnect and reconnect?

I never do...and I have asked two seperate pump trainers and both said no. Actually, one said it depended on how long you have been disconnected, and I said for a shower or maybe other "activities" and she said less than an hour, maybe even two, no. I kinda accepted that answer but now I wonder what difference that would make?

The only time I've had to reprime the cannula is when I've put in a new site and either that same day or the next day I had to change it because it didn't feel right. I put in a new infusion set but hook up with the tubing and insulin that's already in the pump, and then reprime.
