Did they stop making them? I have gone store to store and no one has them. I like checking it at home each month.

Did you check on the Web? Ask at the store?

I thought I read somewhere that they had stopped making these tests, but maybe someone else could confirm this...? :hmmmm:

Costco is now selling the Choice for $9.97. I picked one up 2 days ago.

Walgreens has stopped selling them / CVS has stopped selling them. Pharmacist told me that they are no longer available for home use due to Accuracy and Cost.

Discontinued! I wonder why. Not enough demand or safety/accuracy problems?

I could go pick up some more at Costco and sell them to you for a small profit! :)

Bwuuuhaaaaaahaaaaaa! I'm addicted to those things, I am a firm believer that they made my control a lot better. I take issue with whatever pharmacist said they aren't accurate. A few of us had compared the numbers from these things to the numbers from a lab A1c, and they were comparable. I don't think they sell very well, though.

Anyway, I'll be hitting Costco here shortly...If I have to stock up, I better get cracking...

My guess would maybe be demand. Because there was nothing on the FDAs site about them forcing them to discontinue or suspend sales. And when I found the original FDA letter it stated that in clinical FDA approval trials the machines were 98% accurate.

I work for a diabetes supply company, and I know that we sell them. I have also seen them in various other pharmacies throughout Layton/Clearfield area in Utah.

Find a pharmacist or doctor friend and have them order the A1C Inview for you. It's the exact same thing they sell on the shelf but alot cheaper. You pay $130 for it but that's for a 10 use unit.

That doesn't beat the deal at Costco for the Choice ($9.97).

But if they stopped making it, then people have to find another option. My thoughts were the Inview. Besides, not everyone has a Costco or a membership there and we don't know how much longer you will be able to get them either. Just a thought I had.

Inview, eh?

Yeah, I don't care really what product I use, giving up the monthly A1c testing freaks me out about as much as if I had to go to urine-only sugar testing...

sure. I just found a website that shows the Inview. The results come up a bit quicker on that one than the Choice. I'm wondering if it's more accurate. It would be well worth a few bucks more if it's more accurate than the Choice.

The problem is the Inview is for Physician use Only at this time. So you need a doc friend to get it and then sell it to you. I'm not sure how many will do that, tell them just to bill your Insurance for two office visits, lol.

Oh noooo...I've just been searching the web to order some choice home kits but could not find any. Then I searched on here & found this post :( :( :(
I liked the kits & found them to be 100% accurate. ****.

Everyone:

I was facinated by this thread. I found that Amazon.com sells various devices as well as a mail in kit.
