I was wondering what everyone else likes there night time blood sugars to be before they go to bed and what they are when they wake up?
Do you have a snack and if so what kind?

I know I have my appt. on Fri w/ my endo and we need to adjust my basal since I been excersing I been having lower morning numbers than I want.

I think u need a nice lil snack. I usally have some cheese and test in about 1 hr, I always like to be no less than 100. At morning Im at 70-80. Its also a lot of testing. When I dont work out, its not too much of a change but it does drop a bit. I also find that If I have the snack a bit later, right before bed, it will not drop.

For myself, my blood sugar needs to be over 130 before going to bed. I usually have a bowl of low-carb Special K with Hoods Carb Countdown Milk or two pieces of toasted light wheat bread with peanut butter as a snack. In the morning when I wake up, I test anywhere between 75-110.

As long as I am certain that my blood sugar isn't rising significantly or falling significantly, I am happy going to bed between 5.0 and 7.0 and I would love to wake up between 5.0 and 7.0. However, more often I seem to have some kind of snack before bed that leaves my blood sugar rising (which I don't cover with insulin because I don't want to go low) and wake up between 9.0 and 12.0. I need to cut that snack out (don't want to mess with fast-acting insulin at bedtime).

I like my bg to be around 100 when I go to bed since I know it tends to drift down (although I compensate for this). I like to wake with it in the 80's or 90's.

And I don't like to have to snack before I go to bed. I hate feeding the insulin...

My bedtime goal is 140. All other things being equal, if I go to bed at 140, I will wake up exactly half that, at 70, if I'm lucky. Often, I'll wake up in the 60's, and occasionally drop low enough over night to trigger a liver dump, and then wake up even higher than I went to bed at--maybe as high as 200, so i never know. I like 60 better than 160 tho! LOL--ain't this disease fun?!

i went to bed w/ my blood sugar at 118 and woke up it was 63.
guess im going to be re-setting my basal rate this week.

i usually eat like a pack of furit snacks or crackers before bed w/o checking my blood sugar. last few nights i been checking before bed cuz i was curious w/ my morning lows.

I like mine to be 120-160 before bed. I find when they're too high, I crash big time overnight. When they're too low, I wake up a bit high.

Lately though I've been going to bed at a good level and still crashing low over night. I think I need to cut back on my basal too--but my numbers throughout the day are so good I hate to see them spike. :(
