If it's time, you correct for whatever reason, at least that's the way I've always approached it.

I'll always correct a high BGL, no matter what the cause. It's just too uncomfortable to live with, and too easy to fix.

I always correct a high BG from stress as well, I can't stand feeling so ill. BG is not going to return to normal on its own once you've relieved the stress. The stress hormones have raised it and you'll have to correct it because you're diabetic and don't have normal insulin levels to bring it back to normal like a non-diabetic's body would do in the same situation.

I also correct high blood sugar levels, regardless of the cause. If the cause is stress, then feeling ill is only (for me) going to increase the stress and prolong the effect.

I test before meals and if my BGL is too high, I'll adjust my bolus accordingly.

Since it is a hormone factor I would think insulin would be the answer but becarefull! I remember months back I had a allergic reaction to some meds and needed steroids and that threw me up to +600 so I corrected with insulin but then hours later went through the floor after the steroids wore off!!!

I believe stress has put me into the 20's, too, only using mg/dL, which would be just over 1 for you Canadians. Stress puts me into insulin shock and I have to correct that.
