Anyone got RECENT info on the Freestyle Navigator?

I'm interested primarily about the awful 10 hour blackout time of the sensor, after insertion. The last I heard a few weeks ago, the sensors now last for 5 days instead of the original 3, but they won't provide glucose readings for a nearly deal-breaking TEN hours! Other than that spec, the remaining info I've gotten on the Navigator has it the front runner for me.

The first 10 hours you get readings but you have to calibrate it but then after that it is rock solid. The hospital where I go is one of the places doing a study for Abbott. Yes, it will last for 5 days. I will try to find out more for you. :captain: :captain: :captain: :captain:

Here's something I found pretty interesting on the Navigator. And for any parents with a child on an insulin pump this can be your way to get a free control method.

At the bottom it shows the locations that are still currently recruiting for studies of childred (under 18) on insulin pumps with type 1 diabetes.

Darn! Too bad I wasn't under 18, lol....Oh well. One thing that concerns me some, is that all these new gadgets will be released in a close time frame rather than over a longer span, which may not allow users to try different ones if they feel so inclined. I know I'd love to try out different continuous monitors (already did a trial on the CGMS), and then choose which one I like best. What can I say, I'm a gadget girl! lol :nerd:

That would be excellent if the readings are available! I read something on the net about it not showing readings until the 10 hour mark. If I find where I read that, I'll post the link or quote the text later today. You made my day!
