I've been thinking for a while about getting a heart rate monitor, thinking that it might help me analyse my activity better and correlate it with blood sugar trends.

The thing is, I can start doing some physical work, not realise how much I'm burning and before I know it, it's hypo time. I thought if I had a device telling me how hard I was working, maybe it might help me keep one step ahead of the game.

Does this sound sensible or a waste of time? Is there actually any relationship between heart rate and carbs burnt?

I have to say I don't use mine very often even whilst running.
There are heart rate monitors which calculate the calories you have used and all sorts of extras too. It depends on how much you like gadgets!
