This morning I got up and did my morning thing. I checked my FBS (it was 89) and took my meds and ate the usual breakfast of 1/2 cup of Oatmeal/splenda and cinnamon in it. When I took my 2 hour test it was 179. I usually test at 123 or under after breakfast. The only thing I could have done different was I took a shower and did not walk down for the paper like I usually do.
Any ideas on why I was so high this morning? I haven't had a reading that high in a long time. It wasn't that high when I had a piece of birthday cake last weekend or after eating a cookie yesterday.

When you get a reading that's out-of-line with what you suspect, it's not a bad idea to re-check. I know it uses up another strip, but it does bring piece of mind.

I don't know about you, but I can't count on the same bg reading at the same time of day, or from eating the same food as 1,000 before. Our bodies aren't predicticable. I could skip doing a zillion bg tests if they were. :)

That was the first thing I thought of. I rechecked with my freestyle and got a reading of 170. I used the Aviva the first time. It was like it was dropping when I rechecked. I just never had it go that high after breakfast for a long time. I eat breakfast by what my FBS is. If it is 95 or under I do oatmeal or cheerios and above I do eggs.

did you check the phases of the Moons of Saturn? Quite frequently, I've found that has as much effect on my B/G readings as anything:wink:

Nope I didn't check the phases of the moons of Saturn. I'm running a little high all day and now my tummy isn't feeling too good. It could be that I'm coming down with something. My feet are giving me fits tonight also. I hate it when it feels like someone is sticking needles between my toes.

Stress perhaps? That can be a biggy for me. Also it took me a while but I finally learned to wash my hands first, so that any sugar that may be lurking is gone.

Not everyone liver dumps, though. That's what makes this so much FUN!

I'm not sure what it was but today I'm running lower. It was 82 fasting and 89 after breakfast. I had a bowl of cherrios. I guess it was the phases of Saturns moon.
