Hey! That's interesting! Thanks for posting it!! Unfortunately, this is the first time I've seen it, so I can't comment on it, but maybe others out there have seen or used it (i.e. those in the UK or other areas?). :dontknow:

It seems that for as progressive as the US is with some things, they're behind the curve on other technologies. It's not to diss the US (I know we have more intense approval processes & such), but it would be cool to see some of these items become available worldwide when released (i.e. cell phones with glucose meters in them & other things of the sort)...

There's a rumor now that Apple is getting closer to selling an iPod cellphone. Maybe we could ask them to add a glucometer to it! <g>

Now if anyone can do it, Apple can! lol...They like to "think outside the box!" :D It would be cool...cause if you think of it, people don't usually lose cell phones (as they're not cheap, especially the one with the meter in it! :dong: lol).

I lost my cell phone in San Diego on vacation, while riding the trolley system. someone was nice enough to turn it in to lost and found, so I got it back the next day! Thank you, good samaritan!

My wife lost her first cell phone in a parking lot, getting out of the car. Some kids found it and taunted us for a while by claiming they would give it back if we met them at a store. they gave us the run around for about an hour, so I cancelled the phone, making it useless. In that hour, they racked up some long distance charges. The replacement phone cost us over $200.

The next lost phone (my wife's) was found by another good samaritan in a park. He figured out how to access the contacts list(he had a charger that fit the phone--the battery was dead when he found it) and so he called my phone. We went to his house to retrieve the phone (a Star Tac) and thanked him about 300 times. What a nice guy to take the trouble to bypass the security of the phone by trial and error to access the contacts list. He restored my faith in humanity after the bad experience we had with my wife's first lost phone.

I almost forgot. We bought another phone before the guy managed to get my number out of my wife's phone, so we ended up with a spare which we used as a charger so we'd have one extra fully charged battery available for whoever needed it.

Score: 3 lost phones; 2 found.

I just heard 2 days ago that Lifescan is about to release the UltraSmart2. They recently released the Ultra2, which includes a backlit screen. The backlight was the only reason my wife and I upgraded from the Ultra to the US.

Looks cool. I wonder have fast the results are (looks like 3 seconds?) and how much blood it takes (strips look similar to Ultra).

The One Touch Ultra 2 uses the same test strips as the One Touch Ultra
