anyones site ever sting after bending over or it rubbing on something?? mines turning red because i inserted to low near my hip...does it get better if i protect it from rubbing over a period of time?
Use your judgment...I've put up with uncomfortable sites for three days, and I've removed sets after a few hours.
The worst thing I ever did was I had a set on my hip that was about the same height as a stair rail in my old house...I walked by that rail and *just* bumped it...Man oh mighty, felt like a nail was driven into my hip...I fell over, my wife thought I stepped on something...When I finally looked at my site, it was already bleeding out. Ewwwwww...

I've had sites that really annoy me, mainly if I get near the belt line and my belt just rubs against it all day.
I have also put up with site pains at times and even on occasion the stinging to a very high extent. One time at work, around Christmas, I had to give like a 10 unit bolus for cake and each unit hurt more than the previous. An officer could tell the pain I had on my face and asked what was wrong and I told him being shot would probably be less painful.
I'd be kinda concerned on why it's turning red.

I had one in a similiar location do that.....by the end of the three days I did have a slight infection (not serious, a bit of polysporin cleared it up in a couple of days).

I have to be careful where I put my site. If I put it too close to where the waistband of my pants are, or close to the pockets, then it feels as if something is rubbing against it and it's uncomfortable.

I use an Animas 1250 and was experiencing stinging at various different sites. I called the company and they suggested that I slow down my delivery. I don't know if other pump companys have the feature that allows you to control (somewhat) the speed of delivery. I eliminated the stinging that way. However, sometimes the site just hurts. I change my infusion site in this case because I don't want to wait and risk high blood sugar because of a problem. It isn't as cost effective this way but it is better for my health. Thanks for being there, everybody!

The MiniMed pumps infusion insulin at the rate of 1.5 U per minute--very slow. That prevents pooling and stinging.

Mine sting for a small amount of time after I insert, this occurs very often for me. Of course, I insert my sites down near my hip, just above to my pants hem.
Sometimes mine turn red after I take them out but rarely bleed. I think I have a mild skin allergy to the Mastisol adhesive I am using. But maybe it's because I haven't been able to get any Detachol from Smiths Medical though.
Anyone else been able to get Detachol?
