I went to the MS center of Miami and I was given my Rx by My new doc. Very nce man, explained a lot and heard everything I had to say. He informed that a lot of what was reported on my MRIs, were a bit exagerated as my MS was not as bad as they reported. VERY GOOD news!!
He also told me sun bathing was possible, pregnancy, and many other things are very possible. I was given my Rx of Avonex, 1 intramuscular (ouch) shot, once a week, and I will see how it goes.

Another thing down, yet I still have this itch to see that 2nd opinion.....

A friend of mine (haven't seen her in a while though) was on a shot of Betaseron (I think that was it) every other day. After her b/f died, I gave her a few shots. A 2nd opinion wouldn't hurt, just for peace of mind.

Are you required to give your own shots? Hopefully you live close enough if they have to do it every week.

Hurray (i know that sounds silly, given the circumstances)! Happy to know that your treatment has started and that the doc says the MRI interpretations was exaggerated. Hopefully with the treatment, your symptoms will subside and your general well-being will improve quickly. And hopefully once the court date passes, your stress-level will fall and without all those stress-hormones, both your blood sugar and your MS symptoms will decrease.

This is great news. Do you have to give your own injection? I'd still get the 2nd opinion. Hang in there.

I'm so Happy to hear that. That IS Very Good News. I was
hoping and praying for that. Don't change that info. :D Do you
get the shots in your hip? That's where I had to get the gold
shots for my RA. It was okay as long as they didn't hit the sciatic
nerve. A second opinion is good as long as you are willing
to go through that again. Thanks for the update. :)

I wish you didn't have to deal MS at all, but I am so happy to hear that it's not as bad as some would make you believe. I don't know why some doctors like to scare their patients like that .

Anyway, the treatment doesn't sound like fun, but I know that you can manage it... Hey, if you can manage Diabetes then this shouldn't be too bad

Keep fighting :boxing:!

Thank u everyone!!!
yes I do have to give myself that shot.. Blah!!! It would have to be once a week. I am wanting that 2nd opinon, like said, peace of mind. I know the 2nd Neuro wouldnt have to order MRIs or spine tap, because s u all know, Been there, done that, and have copies.. LOL

I have been told that after some time you tendo to fight the medication, something like insulin resistance. There are some that never get to know what that is or even see Cortisone, but some do. I dont know how I could handle that because we all know how much our Bsugar LOVES Cortisone!!

I go for my appt for the 2nd opinion/Neuro on May 22. This will be good and I have to come up w/ a clever way to ask for his DX w/ out him knowing its a 2nd opinion.

My Primary said that he is still thinking its NOT MS. We will see....
I am keeping my Meds for MS in the fridge.
