Congratulations. Never used diabetes for an advantage, ok maybe once to get off of work, but don't tell my boss...

The insets are really easy to use and painless. Good choice in infusion set. Happy pumping!

I'm glad you're taking care of yourself. I've occasionally used diabetes as an excuse to eat something I want. I call it a "medical emergency," which has become something of a joke in my family. Don't feel guilty, you're entitled to a treat now and then in exchange for all the hard work you put in keeping good control.

I skipped some classes in High School saying I was "low" and had to go eat with my buddy. ;)

Probably the worse I've ever done....

I was taught about sex by my junior high gym teacher--I don't know why this subject fell to the gym teacher--but I didn't have to study for it.

we have to play a game for 2 weeks and then we have to take a written quiz:puke: on the history of the game and the rules and everything, i think it ruins it.

No doubt.. gym should be a break from the desk/classroom/writing etc. That sorta stinks.. :(

Back when I was in high school, my pump actually had NEEDLES. And before we started bending them, the thing actually kind of went in at an angle so I'd have to protect it from getting bumped by people or yanked out.

I'd then switched to bending needles (once that caught on) but sometimes I'd tell the gym teacher I needed to switch into the other class. They basically let me go to whichever gym class was running at the time. So I'd usually go to the class with the better looking girls or the sport I hated less.

In my junior year I discovered that I could somehow get away with going to the library every day at that period and I still got great grades and interim reports from my gym teacher. I don't think I ever went to gym again.

Thats funny. i could sit out on gym if i wanted to, but i don't think i would get good grades. the gym teach doesn't push me as hard as everyone else, i think thats why everyone hates her, lol. she will say" everyone i know u can un faster than that" and the i will start to run faster then she'll say" no mary you're good". i thinks it's funny. but i am nevous with gym and getting my insulin pump. i dont want it to get squished, but i know that it's made to stand that, but still i am nervous.

Don't sweat it about your pump. I had old 1980s pumps and used to slamdance and stage dive with them on.

Yours will be fine. Never had a pump break due to anything I was doing while wearing them. I think one time one of 'em just quit working though. Called the 800 number, and they overnighted one to replace it.

I had a friend in high school who had a motorcycle racing accident that cost him his pump.
