Batteries in your pump

I normally use Duracell AAA batteries in my pump.

I was at someones house about 2 weeks ago and put a noname AAA battery in my pump. I thought it was fine until this early am.
I was sound asleep and my Cozmo made a weird alarm noise I never heard so I turned on the light and it said something about battery dipliced? insert new battery NOW.

From now on I'm only using the good stuff (Duracell,Engergizer)

Anyone else have any battery mishaps?

I do believe MiniMED INSISTS on only Energizer. Anectdotally, it seems Energizers last a little longer for me in my Cozmore than Duracell. Not like weeks longer, but maybe a couple days.

And no, I won't put off-brands in my pump. LOL

I've always followed Minimed's recommendation of using Energizer batteries. They last for about 7 weeks (one AAA). I don't use the vibrate alarm function but I do use the backlight a lot. Saving a few cents on no-name batteries isn't worth the risk.

Yeah, I think MM strongly recommends Energizers over Duracell batteries. My Pump trainer was actually the one who told me this, I believe :hmmmm:, but at the time it kind of went in one ear and out the other :eek:....that is, until I tried it. With Duracells, the last only a very short time and when it is a low battery many times I get no alarm or anything :confused:. With energizers, they last much longer and I usually always get the low battery alarm. So I guess there is a difference :idea:. I always assumed batteries are batteries and there wasn't a difference in brands...now I know :wink:

Studies show the bunny is the better than the copper top. I think all pump companies recommend Energizer batteries, and I think the e3 batteries are well worth the extra cost.

After having several Duracell mishaps with my 515, I took MM's advice and use only Engergizers. they last about 6+ weeks. The Duracells would generate a "Battery Failure" message after 4-6 days! I'd check their voltage at around 1.46. Energizers don't stop working in a 515 until they are depleted to around 1.36 or 1.38 (I forgot which). Something in the 515's battery indicator circuitry doesn't like the Duracells. I still feel foolish for arguing with MM over the issue. Turns out they were right--but they couldn't explain WHY I needed to use Energizers. Duracell button batteries worked fine in my 506/507/508 pumps.

agree.,.. i havent needed to change my battery yet, but when i do i guess ill be going energizer.

I've had no problems with my Duracell batteries.
Its the no name battery I put in last time.
