My husband has a mini-med 508. The warranty was up in March 06. He is
now able to get a new pump. We would like to wait until the new mini-med
is out that can check your sugars, however I am not sure I understand. We
first have to get on the Pathway program and get a pump then upgrade to the pump we really want. Can someone explain this to us. For some reason
I can't grasp what they are saying. Why get one when you want the other?

Sorry if I sound dumb, just need help in understanding.. Thanks in advance
for your help

From my understanding if you buy the Paradigm Real Time right now they will ship you a 515 and then when the Real Time finally comes out they will ship that to you for free and then you will just send the 515 back. That may even be null and they may just send you a Real Time right now.

The problem though is to buy the unit that monitors the BG you have to pay out of pocket $1000. That option is built into the pump, however, you have to pay for the transmitter and sensors. The pump will still work like normal, just wihtout the continual BG monitoring. And there is no estimated date for when insurance will cover it.

If you have more questions just ask.
