Not too bad. Although I found the sequence of a guy washing down his diabetes medication with orange juice a little quaint.

Hahahaha!
I noticed the same thing! Washing down his pills with OJ....sheesh...and to think how much juice and fresh fruit smoothies I used to eat thinking they were "really healthy" for me!
I did find a mixed juice (strawberry, bannana and orange juice) that was asparatame based, thought great, popped it open, and it was just like sugarless koolaid but worse...

You'll get used to it in time.
I use only Sugar Twin or Splenda, actually got a regular pop by accident recently and thought it was disgusting.

Yea - I was never much of a regular pop drinker, but once I saw that movie, "SuperSize Me" and realized just how much pure sugar is in cola drinks I was completely revolted.
As a result - I don't allow pop in my house anymore for the kids, juice is bad enough, but these cola drinks are simply abusive.
Phrankly, I'll take my low-carb beer anyday!
Burp!

Interesting site, Grant, but I'd like to find some help for those of us with a multitude of problems, such as mine, dealing with diabetes AND Crohn's Disease, since both diets contradict each other.

Hood used to make some low-carb breakfast drinks that were really good, especially the ruby red grapefruit and the orange-banana-pineapple. They were sweetened with Splenda. But I can't find them anywhere anymore. Does anyone know if these are still available?

I noticed that 2 local grocery stores quit carrying the Hood brand juices. I liked them.

The best drink any one can have is fresh lemon juice with splenda.
For a 12oz drink mix the juice of one lemon with water and splenda with ice cubes.

My friend I use to be a big time beer drinker that never drove after I had a few. I gave it up when I was DXed 10 years ago.
If you'r on glucophage please don't drink any beer at all.
Good luck OK?

Hi Nick - how come you say no beer?
I know there is a risk (1 in 33,000) of developing lactic acidosis with the metformin, but I'm not packing them away or anything?
A normal bottle of beer is 15 g of carb and the low carb beer I drink is 2.5 g of carb...sheesh....whisky is zero?
There are lots of posts here about drinking and diabetes and most say they it's fine.
What's yer thinking there Nick, I'd love to hear what you're thinking...
