I was checking my blood sugar recently and noticed that there was blood all over the meter even though I had cleaned it a few days earlier. I've got blood all over my log books, blood on my clothes, and blood on other things as well. I find it a bit frustrating. Does anyone else have similar problems?

I've noticed that lately my fingers are taking longer to clot after testing as well. If I'm not careful, I end up with the same problem... little blood smudges on everything.

Best wishes for quicker finger-prick-clotting,
Angie

After you get your blood onto the test strip, try some pressure w/ a cotton ball and keep your finger/test site above your heart for a few moments - that may help a bit. There's always bandaids, too.

Yeah, me too.
I use kleenex when I do the test and generally, I just put the kleenex down on the table, and while I'm watching the 5 seconds tick away on my monitor, I just press down on the kleenex and most of the time that is enough pressure/time to make the bleeding stop. Sometimes is aresn't (Yankee for "ain't"), so I just pop my finger into my mouth til it stops. Or, I just hang on to the knleenex until it stops.

As your fingers get punctured more & more,
you may find that they also bleed easier than
when you first started.
Try re-adjusting the depth settings on your lancet device.
You may be able to get by with a shallower depth.;)
