I must say Ed, this gives me some hope. At 59, I figured I didn't have a lot of time left. Welcome to the forum and I hope you are around until I am at least 85!

Hallo edlam,
The fact that you entered the forum itself encourage most of diabetes patients here!
I am a 71 years old man in Tianjin China ,a 27 years diabetes patient.Since 1992, I suffered from Diabetes complications, diabetes peripheral arterial disease(PAD)-arteries became clogged with fatty deposits, and peripheral neuropathy(PDN)-a nerve damage caused by chronic high blood surgars.Since then,I`ve been sent to Tianjin Diabetes Hospital for three times. The three times reports of Doppler instrument and pulse volume waveform analysis showed that my block rates of leg arteries were 20%,30% and 40%.The symptoms of aches, cramps, fatigue, heaviness and numbness from my feet ,ankles and legs gradually became more and more severe, Arteries radiography showed both my front tibial arteries gradually became blocked.Since I still had the vein problems, the rest times of the day,I had to leave both my legs high up,preventing it from heaver and swellen. That is me.
kindly regards.

Welcome, Edlam!! It will be wonderful having you with us. You will be a benefit to us. I am 59 years old with some neuropathy just setting in and seem to be at a cross roads with this stupid disease. I seem to need some medicines being adjusted or sense knocked into my head to keep things in better control. I seem to hit these crossroads every once in a while--thank goodness not all the time.
It will be good to hear from you often. I feel you will help many of us when our attitude gives out. You sure have a good one.
Have a good evening. Syd
