| | | I'm Booked Well, confirmation #2 is in (BrionH was #1). I am officially booked for Vegas.
I will be flying from Dayton, Ohio to Las Vegas, Nevada via Midwest Airlines.
I will be leaving Dayton at 2:30 pm on Sunday and arriving in Las Vegas at 5:40 pm via a stop in Milwaukee. I will be arriving just in time to meet everyone for dinner if they want to.
I will then be leaving Las Vegas at 11:59 pm on Thursday night and arriving back home in Dayton at 9:45 am on Friday morning again via changover in Milwaukee.
With my flight I also obtained "Your FREE LAUGHLIN DAY TRIP via fully equipped motor coach includes round-trip motor coach. Tour operates Monday through Friday. 11 hours round trip. Your FREE STATELINE DAY TRIP via fully equipped motor coach includes a FREE buffet and Chocolate Factory tour. Tour operates WEDNESDAY'S ONLY. 7 am - 4 pm round trip. Both tours include FREE hotel pick-up and return and round-trip motor coach tour."
It would be interesting to do both of those with some others if they are willing to attend. I'll have to contact them closer to the date to make reservations for both.
I just thought I'd pass this info on and hope others make reservations and post about them as well. Let's make this a huge gathering.

| | Ok, Brian and Kevin, it's official, I will be joining you! Woohooo!
Although I am not booked yet, the decision has finally been made. I was having trouble coordinating my dad & stepmom's visit to the States with my sister and me, and this Las Vegas gathering. And after weeks and weeks of discussion, I've been able to convince all parties involved that a trip to Las Vegas is called for!
It's looking like I'll be in Vegas from late Sunday afternoon until Tuesday or Wednesday... not sure yet on the departure date. I will be driving down. I will have my bf, dad, stepmom, sister and BIL with me and will likely spend most of my time with them, but I still want to spend some time with you guys, whether it's dinner, gambling, lounging by the pool, mini-golf, wandering the strip, whatever!
Will keep you updated on exact dates and hotel/whereabouts when that gets sorted out. Woohoo, I'm excited!

| | I'm jealous... I'd love play a round or two of golf with you guys. Too bad I can't go. I even had to call off NAB this year!

| | | Unfortunately, yes... But I wouldn't trade the new one for anything. Next year will be different.

| | Ok, would like some help if anyone can offer any suggestions....
I'm having trouble searching for suite-type rooms, e.g. one place with 3 bedrooms, living area, etc. Every website I've tried so far just lets you search for 4 people max in regular rooms. Brian, didn't you get a suite or something like that? How did you find it, did you just search individual hotels?
If nothing else, I'll just have to go ahead booking 3 regular rooms side by side.

| | Instead of going to the websites of Orbitz and Travelocity, try going to the site of the hotel you want to stay at. Sometimes it's easier to search that way.
Otherwise, call up the hotel and ask the reservations staff. Suites are typically way more expensive than getting 3 separate rooms though... Suites will usually come with lots of extra amenities, which makes you think you're getting a great deal, but typically not so much unless you are a proven high-roller.
Because of our possible move, we may not be going afterall. |

| | | Jen....try searching hotels. I can even assist you if you send me a PM with how many people, how many beds you need (because I don't want to assume bed sharing), and how much you are willing to spend per night. Some hotels have couches yet they don't consider those as a sleeping area unless it's a fold out couch.
For example, I'm staying at the Orleans and they have rooms with 2 queen beds and a couch, yet they say 4 people max in that room. I know it could handle 5 if someone doesn't mind a couch.

| | | I just checked the Orleans and if I entered the info correct it said suites weren't available for them specific dates. Maybe it's one of those deals where you can only book by talking directly to the hotel.

Gosh I know I'm going to get chewed out for this but unfortunately I will not be attending the meet n greet either. I thought I'd be financially ready to go by then but it just isn't going to happen. I'm really disappointed!!
I was really looking forward to getting to see you all but it has been a rough year thus far. I hope everyone who is going will understand. I'll be looking to hitch a ride on the next meet n greet train whenever that happens.

| | D'oh! A quick check of the suites and their prices has shaken me back into reality. I'm thinking no on those, LOL! You guys are right, cheaper to go with separate rooms. And then we get our own bathrooms!
You know, all I need is a bed, I'm totally fine with a Travelodge.

If nothing else, I'll just have to go ahead booking 3 regular rooms side by side. | I got my room a while ago.... prices were pretty decent for an 775sqft suite, but it only has one king size bed. I believe i got it at 300/night, normally 600. If anyone needs a place to crash they are welcome to there. There is plenty of room.
Sandi, I am sorry to read you aren't going . This trip set me back A LOT too. Ef it though, this is the highlight of my year. I hope Tony is still in!! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
