| | | What exactly happened Monday night? My impression was that there was going to be a gathering of some sorts Monday evening in Brian's suite? So what did everyone end up doing?
Brian, I got your lunchtime message a couple hours after you left it and returned your call - said I was still up for the evening festivities. Jedi, you tried to call me? My cell phone didn't log any calls except from Brian, and even ones that go straight to voicemail should show up. Weird. I'm cursing my cell phone.
After dinner was done with my family on Monday, around 10-10:30pm, I thought the party would still be going on, so I hopped into a taxi down to The Paris, called your cell again Brian, left a message, got to the hotel and called your room from the lobby, left a message. I ended up playing around in the lobby for a bit before giving up. I had meant to head down to the Paris earlier in the evening, but everything in Vegas took 10 times as long as we had planned! I'm kicking myself for not carrying the sheet with everyone's numbers on it with me everywhere - I had left it at my hotel room thinking I'd go back for it sometime during the day, but we never made it back - it was that whole time issue again - and all I had was the number Brian called me from. I was going to try calling everybody else Tuesday morning/lunch for a possible meeting, but it didn't work out... How on earth it took us 3 hours to leave our room, check-out, pack the car and get on the road I'll never know! It must have something to do with organizing 6 (hungover) bodies, and by that time we were all hot and cranky and wanted to get out of there. 48 hours in Vegas is plenty enough, lol!
So yes, I was a bit disappointed; was really looking forward to meeting everyone and it sounds like you all had a blast. Next time maybe. I did have an excellent, but exhausting, time with my fam though, in both Vegas and Zion, so all was not lost.
p.s. Brian: nope, Ryan wasn't interested in joining us all, but it sounds like you had fun with your girl regardless!

... but it sounds like you had fun with your girl regardless! | You answered your own question/thoughts there. LOL Brian was ummm....out of it all evening. We sent him a few texts and calls and no answer from him. That's kinda what hurt it slightly.
Sorry we didn't get to meet Jen. Maybe next year. Currently I'm heavily looking at Florida for next year although Camjen and myself are working on other ideas as well which I'm hoping to present to the group. I truely am hoping to get at least 10 rooms next year somewhere so we can get a group discount therefore making it cheaper. That and I want more families and kids to come.

| | | My apologies Jen. Vegas flipped my world upside down and I was asleep by 4 pm that day and we were partying in my room for a while if I recall right. Usually I am very punctual and on time, especially with events. I kind of figured you were to busy with your family because I didn't hear from you earlier that day. Any way you look at it it's my fault though; my sincerest apologies. |

| | I split this thread up as it went off topic and didn't think it was fair to Jen.
The post have been merged to, Meet and greet 2008.

| | Sorry Jen. I'm not sure what happened, but maybe we can meet up next round? Carwy tried to call but didn't get an answer. I'm not sure if it went straight to your answering service or not (as he called).
That said, you don't live far from us, so if we could conjure up a somewhat "local" group, and do a "mini-meet & greet?"

| | No need to apologize, Brian, it's all good! Vegas is supposed to do those things to you . I was just curious what ended up happening.
Dewey, that's so weird that Carwy's call didn't get through either! I swear there's only one number that got logged on my phone (Brian's). Man, what is up with my phone?!?!?!? Grrrrrr, that is incredibly frustrating, makes me wonder what other calls I'm missing. Your idea of mini-greets sound great tho!

| | The worst part is, we were all down by the Paris hotel (can't remember if it was around the same time you tried to come out there Jen, but I think it was!)! We were walking after dinner, and after spending a while in the forums shops, we walked down to the Paris (we also called Brian, but didn't get an answer ). Poor Rikki's feet were killing her, as she had been breaking in some new walking shoes earlier in the day.
If you'd like to PM me on a possible mini-greet, do let me know. It may not be a big gathering, but something would be cool & as said before, we're not too far from you.

| | A mini M&G would be good for me sometime too.
Brian, if you're up for it, we're (meaning Troy, the three little girls and I) are heading for the Fremont/Los Gatos area this coming Friday. We could maybe stop somewhere near where you live on our way down and have dinner or something? After the drive down, we'll be in Los Gatos the first week and Fremont the second...driving back and forth between the two a lot, I'm sure.
Also, I happen to know that statdeac will be in the Santa Rosa area sometime in those two weeks as well, for work, so I'm trying to get him to do lunch or something while we're there... I haven't been in chat since Vegas, so I'll try and hang out there to catch him soon.
Anyhow, you have my cell number...give me a call sometime!

| | | Jen,
I though I called you, but I can not find a record of it anywhere. I'm so sorry we missed you.
