M&G 2008 - Mrytle Beach - Who is Going?

I am trying to get a head count for the Meet & Greet in Myrtle Beach this year. A reminder is that it will be from Sunday, June 15 till Friday, June 20 this year. You do not need to stay the entire week to enjoy the fun of meeting fellow diabetics and learning about the cool toys they may use.

The estimated cost for a hotel per night is from around $75-150 for a median hotel depending if you want beach front or not.

You can check out the following thread for a little more info. At this time the events depend on what level of turnout there is, so those will be coming shortly.

How I wish that I could attend the Meet and Greet. I do hope that those who are able to go will post to the site and help those of us who are dreaming of being there share in your experiences. Most of all, I do hope and expect that all will have a wonderful time!! (warm smile)

Oh, how I wish I could go... Unfortunately, that's the last week of school for my kids, and I don't want to miss graduation for my son.

My husband is booking a trip to Quebec City...looks like my June is booking up to quickly with a family wedding also. If I can get all the dates finalized for Canada, I might try to squeeze a day or two in for MB...I'd love to try.

Sorry Kev. I really was considering it but seeing as that I may or may not have to have surgery, I can't afford to miss work (no vacation pay until after 10th yr of employment and no sick pay at all).

JSD or Kevin,

I would love to come. It's awful not having more committments, especially since you started working on this a long time ago. I will give you a definite committment by Monday I promise! It's better for people to not commit, than commit and not show up, right?

I wish like crazy we could ALL show up for a BIG party -- be zapped there, all expenses paid and home duties all be taken are of. I hope you aren't ticked at people, because if circumstances were right for everyone, there would be a HUGE turnout.

Yes, I'd prefer a true commitment and people show than commit and not show or back out the week before.

I would like this to be pretty large and hopefully in a few years to have a turnout of 50+ people. If people can't attend, I'm not mad, just disappointed as this seems like a group that would love to do a large gathering, but I'm not sure what would attract more people.

If this is happening, I am coming. But it doesn't look like anybody is committing to going. I know some are going to Vegas . . . or planning on it. I wish a lot of us could really get together.

That's what I would like too. If I don't get a larger turnout then maybe I'll just try and get more "smaller" ones together in various areas close to me (say one in Tennessee, Chicago, Ohio, etc.) Basically a bunch of smaller weekend only gatherings.

If this one doesn't go then I may just go forward with a cruise for next year and set the date/time/etc in stone. I'll give this a few more days and see where it goes.

I'd love to, but... realistically... not this one.
