anyone make a good meter case?

I have come to the conclusion that, while many companies make good glucose meters, very few companies make good meter cases.
My new UltraSmart isn't that much bigger than an Ultra2, but the case is huge and cumbersome! Also, that little clear plastic strip that holds the meter is a good idea in theory, but the bubbles that get under it make it very hard to read the screen. It seems like every case out there is either too big, too flimsy, or just awkward and doesn't fit worth a darn in a fashionable purse.
Anyone have any ideas for alternatives to the cases that companies offer with their meters?

Use a small makeup case! Or just do what I do and dump the meter in your purse sans case.

I also dislike the UltraSmart case, mostly because of that plastic strip. It does make the screen hard to read if the light isn't right. My meter has been slipping right out of the holder a lot when I open the case lately.

I bought an Ultra2 when I stupidly left my meter at work and realized it when I was on a bus going to my sister's for the weekend. I bought an Ultra2 when I got to her place and I really like the part that holds the meter in place in that case.

I use Velcro to keep some of the "escape artist" meters in their proper place in their cases.

Personally, I like the UltraSmart case. I take my meter out of the clear holder when I use it. I like that I can put a vial of strips, my lancer, an extra vial for meds, etc., my alcohol swabs, a spare battery, some lancets, and a roll of glucose tabs. The case is not inconspicuous, but not quite a man purse either.

I also like the way the Ultra2 is held in its case, though not the case itself- too flimsy. I like a nice stiff case that allows me to test without taking anything out of the case. I don't take anything out, not even the lancet device, in order to run a test. The velcro idea has some merit- I'll definitely experiment with that. I'm thinking that a small zippered day planner or portfolio, modified with some velcro tabs, might be the solution.

I use a small camera case with a shoulder strap

as geeky as it may sound i use a fany pack it fits everything i need

I happened to have a Precision Xtra (the older one that glows in the dark) & the case actually fits the UltraSmart! It's smaller than the case that comes with the UltraSmart and fits easily into a bag or purse. The only "drawback" to it (not really a drawback though) is that the lancing device needs to be small or the case won't close. Just an idea.
