| | Most Current A1c Results Hey There!
Just got my latest HbA1c results back -- 5.3%. Not as wonderful as the previous 5.1% but I don't see that as a huge difference (besides I know I was a little off plan during the past 90 days)
I'm feeling good, the weather is nice, tandeming is great, and I thought I'd share some good news!

I have a question... Do average BG results reflect in A1c nubmers at all?

| | | Stuboy,
As I keep a chart and spreadsheet on my daily testing with my meter (Yeah, I'm that kind of "OC" person) I can say that my testing averages a bit above the HbA1c resuts for the same time period. However, I don't test myself while sleeping, nor in-between testing scheduled times where the BG levels may actually be lower. On balance it is a confirmation of what I already know from daily testing.

So three readings of 100 will reflect the same as readings of 50, 50, and 200. There is also a thing to consider in that fluctuation is also more damaging than a steady high. How high that is, I don't know. But the A1C is an average of your past 3 months, with 50% weighted towards the last month.

Wish mine was that good! 7.2, 6.6 and :red: 9.7 are my numbers. Mind you, the 9.7 was before I got my act together and started dealing with my diabetes (and the rest of my life) properly. | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
