Too good to be true?

I'm keeping my eyes open for deals on Freestyle Flash and I found that diabeticexpress have this sale that gives you a free monitor if you buy 100 test strips. I clicked on "add to cart" on that offer and it added just the monitor for $0 (5.95 with shipping) no strips or anything else. I beleive that if something sounds too good to be true it usually is, so I wanted to ask you guys what you think. First of all did anyone ever purchased anything on this website? I'm a bit hesitant to give out my credit card to a company I never heard of. Also considering the deal is different then what happens when you select it, will they actually respect it the way it came out? or will they somehow charge me for strips that didn't show on the total when I selected it?

Most companies will happily give you monitors, knowing that if you like their monitor, you'll spend thousands and thousands for thier strips.

Even better, call Abbott and I'm sure they'll ship you a free meter with no shipping or strings attached!

I have to wonder if they'll charge you for the meter when they see you haven't purchased any strips.

Here is Abbott's customer service number 1-888-208-2550. I would just call and tell them you would like to try their meter and ask them to send you one.
