| | A little turkey
A serving spoon of Stuffing
A serving spoon of Mashed Patotoes
Serving ladel of gravy over the above
A slice of Prime Rib guessing 3 oz.
Three bite size piece of some kind of cheese
Three two bite size pieces of pinapple
Two cups of coffee
Two glasses of Champagne
A slice of Pumpkin Pie
A slice of Chocolate Cake
Took a nap for an hour and a half and hour after the meal, and was asleep two hours after the meal. So no I did not test. Not a test day anyhow, but if I had been awake I would heve tested. Wanted a nap because I only had 4 hours sleep and woke up 4 hours early to go to the meal. Did not have breakfast, just a piece of toast. Not that it is reliable, but I did not feel like I had high bg's. Could have easily stayed awake, but deviating from my normal hours throws my bg's high. After i woke up peaked in here to see if everything was okay. Then went out and shot up some hedge balls. After that cut some wood, osage orange and hackberry to make grips. Threw the hackberry away because it was buggy. Then Wilbur showed up and petted him for awhile and gave him some food. Then came back in here. Know that is a lot more than anyone wanted to know, but the important thing is I was not sedentary other than the nap which is pronedentary. |

| | | We had a mid-afternoon turkeyfest. I ate lotsa the bird (went back for more), mashed taters, stuffing, gravy, a pumpkin cake for dessert and odds and ends. I figured it to be 120g of carbs.
I was 86 at the start of the meal, 114 two hours later, before bed I was 102. Not bad at all. At wake up this morning I was 206. OOPS!!! I blame all the turkey I ate. I bolused the carbs but neglected counting the turkey's protein. Thinking back, I think I gobbled at least 10 oz of turkey, an amount I'd normally have dual bolused for if it had been a nice steak. I'll do better next year.

| | Well, I started out at 7 something in the morning at 156, took my meds. While preparing the stuffing I snacked a lil on it. Can't help it! LOL Besides THE cook's gotta test the food she's making ... right???? I never did test to see how that affected me but by around 1 in the afternoon I was going low After a peice of peanut butter bread, a brownie and a light yogurt then at 1:19 pm I was finally back up to 53. But I felt like complete **** so I layed down for about 30 minutes. Then got up and went back to "work" getting everything prepared for the 15 guests I had coming!!
For some reason on the holidays I tend to run low (after my initial morning high) I think it's the stress of it all?? I DO eat during that day before the holiday supper so .. *shrugs* I dunno, baffles me!
For supper, Lord I ate WAY too much of things I shouldn't have eaten!! I had turkey, just a tiny piece of ham, home made mashed taters (I made 10 pounds of them suckers!!), sweet potatoe souffle, sweet potatoe pattie, gravy, stuffing, boiled cabbage and a dinner roll. I didn't "clean" my plate tho, as my eyes are always bigger than my stomach anymore. Then a while later after my tummy settled a bit, I ate a piece of pumpkin pie cake and a piece of pumpkin cheesecake bar. Then just before bed I at about 1:00 am, another piece of pumpkin pie cake! LOL
I never tested after that low tho, cuz I didn't even wanna know!! LOL I go hog wild twice a year, Thanksgiving and Christmas .... I work so hard the rest of the year, and do pretty good! I think I deserve to let loose on those two days
This morning at 9:35 am .... 122!! (VERY good morning number for me!!) Surprised me!! I thought for sure I'd be thru the roof!!
I sure hope everyone had a SUPERIFFIC day with their famlies!! I know I did!! Even tho I am slap wore out and feel like I've been hit by a Mac truck! LOL

| | | It was one of those days where my blood sugar wasn't going down no matter what I did...I hate that. I couldn't get it to stay under 170 the whole day (even before the meal) Was 370 after dinner (yikes), finally brought it down to 180. I think it's time to start a new infusion set/bottle of insulin.

| | I didn't do so well yesterday, was hovering in the 200s most of the day (fighting an infection and my Lantus is peetering out), but got it down to 143 before the big dinner. Eyeballed my food (tons of turkey, quite a bit of mashed potatoes, bit of stuffing), took more insulin than I ever do, and still ended up at 365 5 hours later. I'm blaming the turkey... and possibly the Jack Daniels and gingerales that I most likely forgot to bolus for. It might screw up my averages for a little while, but oh well, it's only one day. Feeling better today, think I averted the cold, got a new bottle of Lantus out, in the process of detoxing by juicing and my bg is 96. I'm happy.
