Mac Os X and Linux software which supports OneTouch Ultra

Hi,

in the past I had trouble to upload the measurement values of my OneTouch Ultra to my computer because I use Linux as operating system. Therfore I wrote a small application which solves that problem.

If anyone has the same problem. My software is available at
GlucoTrans for free.

The current version of this application creats a CSV file which can be imported into a spreadsheet application for example. Future versions might be available with a GUI. If there is interest I will enhace the application for other operating systems and other types of glucose meters.

What language did you write this in, Java? I need to create a Mac OS X client for diabuddies.com. Just havent had time, and am hoping the Mac .NET CRL can use the one thats in currently. I also have a program written by someone else for the Mac which supports the Freestyle flash.

Yes, it is written in Java, except for the communication related part. Would you share the information you have concerning the communication protocol of your supported glucose meters? It is very difficult to get that information from manufacturers.

The only other one I have is the Freestyle Flash. It's pretty easy. Just connect like you would the one touch ultra and the command to dump the info is "mem" . The great thing about freestyle is that it has an "END" response to let you know the communication is done. So you can read up to the "END". I also have a WSDL I wrote if you are interested in dumping data to a diagrid. I can't post the web class publically though so PM me if you would be interested in the URI.

What did you use to write the communication related part?

Brian: I sent you a mail so that you can send me the web class...

To answer your question also here: The communication related part is written in C. This provides the best possibility to support other operating systems (Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, ...) in future.
