| I am sorry. Do you suppose you could get a shot or pill that might cure your laptop?
Since it works with 95/98/Me/Xp, I'd think it would work with Vista.
Are you sure there isn't an innoculation that might save your laptop?

| | | One Touch Ultra is supported in the next release, April 14th, in diabuddies.
The US is getting there, but won't make the 14th. |

| | | I am an old Type II.
I have been using Ultra OneTouch lifescan diabetes management software for a few years.
Now...I wonder why they have not let us know if or when...or if it is available....and the link.....for Vista compatible?
Is there other software for Vista and OneTouch Ultra II?
The versions available are for XP. It does not work with Vista!! I have been told...a few months ago..."We will have it soon on our website." |

| | | Unfortunately, they've really messed things up for developers (and software backwards compatability) when they released Vista. Unless it's written in a .Net language, chances are a new version will be required.

alot of stuff is screwed around there. I just do Linux, but keep one 2000 machine around for the lifescan software and a few other minor apps.

| | | The original poster's question was whether or not Lifescan's software works under Vista. It was not a question of what OS you prefer, or, more to the point, what OS you choose to demerit.
Please, take the OS bashing to slashdot or some other place it will be appreciated.
I have not yet tried the Onetouch DMS software on Vista, but the older version of Animas' EZ Manager software I have downloads my pump and my Lifescan meters just fine on Vista. I haven't yet tried the Onetouch software because the Diabuddies.com client also works fine with Vista, and supports Lifescan Onetouch Ultra, Ultra 2, and Ultrasmart meters for downloading BG values.

| | | I moved this thread to the appropriate section - monitoring.
I imagine the software should work with Vista, but some concerns get raised (i.e. Windows defender, etc.), and other softwares have had issues running in it, so I understand the apprehension. Also, checking Lifescan's website is another good way to find out about system compatibility. This is an older post, so not sure if the original poster found what he needed yet, but just some suggestions for others who may have the same questions...

| | | One Touch Dibetes Management software If you notice...I am a Junior Member. That is okay. I am 77 and a senior citizen.
Unfortunatley....the latest version DOES NOT WORK WITH VISTA!
I have asked many time...when will it be available...only to be told....SOON. Vista has been out for many months and many users have Vista....AND WE ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO USE THE LATEST VERSION OF otdms.
Has anyone been able to work with Vista? If so ...how did you do it. Is there a website for that information?
It has nothing to do with Defender, Live OneCare firewall ...etc. That is not the problem. The problem is the neglect of the software programmers.
I am tired of waiting... Do you know of any such software that is Vista Compatible? Please email me if you do. dbell5@carolina.rr.com

| | | Vista Software For Most Meters. Check It Out. Tonight I found Minimed https://carelink.minimed.com VISTA software.
IT IS GREAT. IT IS WEB BASED. ENROLL....GO THROUGH THE STEPS. WHEN ASKED FOR DATA CABLE ..SERIAL..HAVE YOUR METER TURNED OFF....LET IT SEARCH FOR YOUR METER...IF YOU USE usb...IT WILL DETECT IT... JUST KEEP CLICKING NEXT.
YOUR METER READINGS ARE UPLOADED. CLICK ON "BATCH REPORTS" FOR ALL....AND SET THE DATES YOU WANT....OR SINGLE REPORT......THEN VIEW REPORT...AND SAVE (pdf) FILES.
CHECK YOUR METER TO SEE IF IT IS ON THEIR LIST. CHANCES ARE IT IS.
I TRIED TO CHECK FOR COSTS...I COULD NOT FIND ANY COST OR FEE.
I ENTERED NO CARD INFO...ONLY THEIR ENROLLMENT FORM.
I BECAME TIRED WAITING FOR LIFESCAN SOFTWARE FOR VISTA. THIS SEEMS TO BE OUR ANSWER. |

| | | I've been using Vista since well before the Public even thought about it Although I used to use the software for the One Touch Ultra, since pumping I have been using the Animas Software.
The Animas works just fine for downloading the meter and the pump readings.

| | | Animas for vista os dgrilli
Thanks for this. Have you checked on Minimed? If you do..how do they compare?
I will check Animis.
Lifescan has no clue about when...or if they will have it for Vista. That tells me something about how much they really care.
My advice to anyone thinking about Vista.....keep your old XP computer. Check Vista for compatible computers...with Vista already loaded....and see how many of your hardware and software are vista compatible
Save time and money...but....buy an upgrade that you can afford.. XP is still very good...I think Windows will drop XP support...to sell Vista. For some...there is never enough money. Ever hear of Microsoft giving aid to theis conumers.? That is not tax deductable....the foundations and charties are tax benefits. Why not a non-profit foundation for those who are seniors...and those who cannot afford to pay the many hundreds of dollars to keeep up? | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
