| | | May I ask where you got this meter. I couldn't find it anywhere and when I called abbott they said it had not been released yet. Where did you get it and how much was it? I was disappointed that it uses different strips than the flash because I use more than one meter at a time (keep them in different spots) so I would have to get at least 2 so I could switch to these strips.

alisa | Where did you hear that it doesn't use Freestyle strips? It would seem strange to call it a "Freestyle Lite", and not use Freestyle strips like the Flash and other Freestyle meters. |

| | | I saw them at Wal-Mart and was disappointed to see they don't use the old Freestyle Strips. It says on the box, "For Use Only With Freestyle Lite Strips." |

That is one method of it having to not code the strip (vial.) Check out the following table showing the strip compatibility. FreeStyle® Test Strip Compatibility Matrix

| | | I wonder if we'll ever see a cozmonitor upgrade to the Lite strip. The Lite is kinda an ugly meter... |

| | | I also just got a couple of these monitors, from friend who works for Abbott. The backlight and strip light are tons better than the Flash. Yes, unfortunately they do have a new strip, but no coding is a decent trade off. I was also told that there is new management software... the old version was not too desireable...

| | | Lite I got mine at Walgreens. The light on the LITE is very bright. I got the new software and it is very nice. It can be used with the Cozmo pump and I guess eventually Navigator.
I like the no coding and I agree it is a even trade as for new strips. |

You fill out this form then they send you an email. You only have like an hour to complete the download once you register. It was fast though. If my link doesn't work you can find the download on the abbott site.

| | | I downloaded the CoPilot software online, it just doesn't work with my Cozmo yet, AND, I was expecting some upgrades over the version that was discontinued 2 years ago, but nope, 2 years off the market and it's exactly the same as what we just had. Gerrr... |

| | | You need to talk with your Cozmo rep or Smiths Medical. They will actually have a cable that will allow your pump to be downloaded to CoPilot! |

| | Does anyone else think that introducing this as a "Lite" meter will make a lot of people mad when their pharmacy provides them with the wrong strips?
Having the names so similar will end up requiring people to be so careful about the strips they buy!
Yeouch! I see problems up the road!
I saw this meter (and the associated strips) behind the counter at Walgreens.
I wonder why Abbott is doing this? They have a great meter already, and I can't imagine why I'd want to pay extra to have the coding built in to the strip! Do they actually think those other "no-code" meters are taking their market segment share away?
I'd rather have a cheaper meter. Walgreens charges $103.99 for a box of 100 Freestyle or 100 Freestyle Lite strips. I remember a year ago when it was only $89.99. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
