My CGMS is here! I don't have training scheduled yet though  I think I'm gonna go insane waiting. Actually, I don't think I'm gonna make it, I think I'm gonna be started before the day is through. |

However, if you choose to go through with this:
Make sure you COMPLETELY understand how the Sensor goes into the Senserter.
Remember to remove the clear plastic, but NOT the whire adhesive.
Remember 60+ degrees is better than 45 degrees at insertion.
After you get it inserted, make sure the white adhesive is wrinkle free...
Wait five minutes before connecting the transmitter.
You should probably review the book that comes with it about ten times, just in case.

| | | Ok, I did review the book. I'm 99% sure everything is in order. I got an error, so I just restarted the sensor, and I'm an hour away from it asking for a bg, so it seems to be working now. The sensor didn't hurt at all, but it bled a lot, but the bleeding stopped.
Now, is it best to have steady bgs during the whole 2 hour warm up? And the 2 hour warm up seems more like 2hrs and 15 minutes, no? |

It asked for the meter bg, ok, did that, then my pump battery died, so I changed that out as quickly as possible, but now it's back to reading "Start" on the status screen.

| | I just ordered the new version of the sensor...$1000 for sensor and 1 month supply (10 insertions). Insurance is fighting me on reimbursement..but I have faith that I will win!

Not cheap  . Right now I'm covered through cobra for everything else, but I'll be getting new insurance soon. As soon as I get the new insurance I'm going to see what I can do to get coverage on this stuff.

| | | So first day really didn't go so well, and I did end up wasting the sensor. I'm not convinced the wasted sensor is so much my naivety or something that would have happened anyways. The white patch had a lot of blood on it, and the wire was bent in 3 places. It was reading 62 when I was 120 last night and 72 when I was 203. I had an actual 72 which is traced me down to nicely, then it lost it when I started climbing back up. Several cal-errors and a few bad sensor alert later, and I was done. |
