I can't decide whether to get theLite or try the Freedom.
Does anyone know what the differences are?
Mark | I chose the "Lite" one, reason: Don't laugh, but it was the word "lite", it must, I mean MUST refer to something good, right? I'm diabetic, lite is good, no?

| | | I just went to Walgreens and they had the Lite on sale for $30 with a $40 mail in rebate... too bad you have to include the receipt or I would have made $20 buying 2 of them. :P

| | | Sorry for such a long first post, but I hope some of you can get 100 freebies I didn't see this mentioned so I thought I would post it. I wasn't a member, but saw this on thread on a google search. I was looking for coupons for free strips when I clicked my way to a ebay site. A lady was offering information on 100 free strips from Abbott for the lite. I had already filled out the offer for the free unit and had a reply email stating it was being filled. I then figured out if she could find the site and was selling the info, I could find it also. I've been told I'm a pretty good googler. Anyway, I found the site at https://www.freestyleliteprogram.com/adfree/
You do have to register and as I've seen here, if your from CA you will have to send in the release form. How it works. There is a survey that has maybe a dozen questions and when you finish it they send you 50 strips for the lite. I received mine 2 days after completing the survey from fed ex. You then wait 3 weeks for the second survey. Today, I did the second half of the survey and it was about 15 questions and took all of 5 minutes. The questions are 1-9 best to worst, so it really took less than that. At the end of the survey it stated my next 50 strips would be sent. I haven't even gotten the lite unit yet, but I have 2 freestyles [a regular and a flash] so I figured I could answer the questions. I knew the coding number was no longer an issue with the lite. If you fill out the second survey, don't say no to using it yet. It will tell you to come back after you use it. I just relogged in and answered yes and it let me continue. I hope the site still works for you and I didn't feel this info should be sold on ebay. We get charged enough for strips. Sorry for some of you, luckily I only test twice a day. |

| | | Thanks for the info on the free strips. I am still using my flash, but have received the free lite. It is a nice unit, but the ten free strips it came went went fast and I won't seem my Dr. until June to get him to change my script.
Again, thank you for the info.

| | | The site worked for me yesterday. I still have my Lite so I can use the strips. I have insurance, but I have to pay out of pocket for prescriptions and then get I reimbursed for 80% after a $200.00 deductible. This will keep me from having to pay for about 1 month since I test 2-3 times per day. More often when I'm feeling hypo or hyper or when I drive a lot. I also entered the web site in my favorites and e-mailed a copy to my daughter-in-law. She has no insurance and can definitely use the strips. She is T1 and on the pump.
I think you can also still order the meter if you google free style lite. I saw it a few days ago. Good luck everyone.

| | | I got two new Freestyle Lites. Eventually, I will switch over to this meter after I use up the tons of Flash strips I have left. I actually have a few meters that I got free still in the original box (If anyone needs one). I can't use all these meters.

| | | someone-- When using a Freestyle strip in a Freestyle Lite, does it then recognize the need to ask for the control calibration number?

From the Abbott website FreeStyle® Test Strip Compatibility Matrix | Well they sent me a freedom lite with the old strips. I haven't tried the strips though.

| | | A freestyle strip in a lite meter won't turn on the meter. Nothing happens. Same vice versa. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
