I have a referral, but haven't called yet. It's on my to-do list for Monday. I was only diagnosed on Thursday, so I haven't let it go too long. Like I said, this is certainly a learning experience.

Got a free one at the Diabetes Expo in Pittsburgh a couple months ago. Just broke it out tonight - the no coding is definitely a nice feature.

Hi, i also made use of this offer, and i cross-checked with my Bayer Ascensia Contour, and they were almost completely coherent / consistent. Works like a charm. AND!: It has backlight!! (for checking in the cinema/theater/metro).

Try looking into their promise program: FreeStyle Promise™ - Diabetes Resources For Your Lifestyle. You get a Promise Card and they cover up to $50 of your strip prescription every 24 days. It's free and they'll give them to anybody asks. Since my insurance covers my strips I get mine for $15 for 200 strips ever 24 days. That's much cheaper than what my insurance covers for any other strip. Perhaps it would help you? It's worth a shot.

I'm in the same boat. Got mine, LOVE it, but my insurance will ONLY cover OneTouch Strips. They won't even give out prescriptions for anything BUT OT strips. It's really annoying

Got mine

in about 6 weeks. I turned around and order ome for Mom that was sent to her in Ohio. Hers arrived in about 6 weeks too. The only trouble I had was with the Walmart Pharmacy When I tryed to use the card that helps pay for the strips with my insurance card. They wanted $120 when I went back to pick them up!!!! WTF..... I only pay 40 on my insurance and this was supposed to pay part of that $40. Put my foot down wasn't paying that and demanded both insurance and freestyle cards returned. LOL. She got a funny look. Both cards????.....Turns out they did not bill the insurance.
