2nd Freestyle flash goes bad in a year.

Of course Abbot is going to replace it for free.

I wonder if they have that Chinese lead paint in them that makes them go bad?

..or it could be that the "electromagnetic shield" surrounding yoru body messes with it.

Finally got my free One-Touch mini by mail....it didn't work...changed the battery...still didn't work (guess it was worth what I paid for it!)

I have over 7 meters (thank you JDF! ) 2 since they first arrived on the market and they are all running well. As far as accuracy the flash 2 times out o 3 matched my labs results and the 3rd was only off by 1.

I am an advocate of Flash meters. I wish kaiser would cover them. Being able to keep all my diabetic supplies in my right pocket is because of the flashes form factor is awesome.

I'm sorry to hear that Linda. I got mine and it's worked from day one. I keep it at work.

I have three Freestyle Flashes and they all have done very well. I am sorry you are having a problem. My dog chewed on one of them and it still works! BAD DOG. It looks scary, but it is a good back up.

Well I got my new Flash and.......100 free test strips!

As an aside, when I was at Walgreens today I noticed they have the new Freestyle Lite and no Flash or Freedom meters. I wonder if they are going to obsolete the older style meters and strips since the Lite uses non coded strips that won't work in the coded meters. Maybe they'll do a freebie offer?

I wonder if the Lite strips are going to cost more.

That's cool they gave you 100 free strips as well! That's about a 55$ value.

I haven't tried the new lite; good question about the strips. I hate having to pay about 50 cents per test. Insurance (Kaiser) wont cover abbot strips so I feel your pain on the new strips and meters to come.

I recevied the free mini too (Amen to free stuff! I love Jays free stuff thread on here! I forgot who posted about the free mini's but I signed up to get it from a thread on here) but havent tried it yet.
