Ne diabetic -- what kind of monitor do you use?

What kind of monitors do you use? What kind of lancet?
Someone told me that there are lancets you can hardly feel.
Mine is not one of those. Also, the doctor gave me a TrackEase monitor. My sister got one for me from her doctor (Bayer - Contour) and it reads 35-50 points lower than the TrackEase. I have tried doing one meter in one hand and then the other meter in the other hand. Is this wrong? Just wondering what people have found to be better.
I have tested them both with their tester bottles and both say they are accurate. I tested last week before I went to the doctor and the TrackEast said 135. Got to the doctor 30 mins. later and theirs said 82. So, I am not using the TrackEase as I think it must be wrong. Plus it used more blood.

hi! i use the accu-chek aviva and their multiclix lancet. the lancet uses a drum that has 6 lancets in it. trish

i use Bayer Contour with a Autolet Impression. although i lost the Autolet so currently using the standard finger pricker that comes with the meter. The good things about the autolet and the standard finger pricker is that they work with most lancets, unlike the multiclix. ive thought about purchasing one however i would have to change my perscription and i am unsure if it reduces any of the pain.

I have been very impressed with Bayer so far, having used there older model and now the new one. The new model reduces the time taken to test and seems to be reasonably acurate although its difficult to prove/disprove. I dont alot of strips to through at it

I use Ultra One Touch Ultra 2's and an Ultra Mini for my purse. For the lancet device, I just use the one that comes with them. I test before each meal and before bed at a minimum.

BD Paradigm Link....I find it better than one touch meters because of how much less blood you need.

I use the Ultra Smart and the Ultra Mini, also. I like the green lancets...forget the name (BD?) I dislike the white ones due to the caps.

I most often use One touch ultra 2 meter and soft clix lancing device.

ye forgot to say i prefer BD Micro-Fine + lancets over the Ascensia Microlet Lancet. Some people prefer smaller gauges, i am currently using 0,20mm 33g and i might consider trying a smaller gauge. i have some Ascensia microlet lance 0.5mm/28g, i might trial these to see if they are more confortable.

You can also call the meter companies and the will usually send out a free meter, with lancing device and a few test stripes.

AccuChek Aviva, or, One Touch Ultra 2. Over several months now, the Ultra seems to read about 10 units higher than the Aviva when testing from the same drop of blood.

I much prefer the B-D micro lancets.
