i have been diagnosed now for just over three months.
i am still on 2xDiamicron (giclazide) pills per day (extended release) - which is half the maximum dose.
i have also adopted a reduced carb diet and doing quite a bit of walking.
my numbers have been really good. my average bgl over the last 30 days has been 6.3 (113). the last few weeks my morning (pre breakfast) numbers have been as low as 3.7 (67) and 7.0 (126).
i have been seeing lower lows and lower highs at whatever time of day i test.
this morning my reading was 5.3 (95). i had an egg for breakfast with a cup of black tea.
then i decided to commute into the city. normally a 45 minute affair. this morning the traffic was horrendous.
as i sat in the traffic - not moving - i thought i was feeling a bit dizzy. it may have been just the bright sunshine. nonetheless i started to PANIC and felt worse and worse.
so - i decided to eat a piece of candy (about the size of a 1cm cube). almost pure glucose. within a few moments i felt better. either my BGL was low and quickly went up - or i assuaged my panic???
when i pulled into the parking lot 20 minutes later my BGL was at 4.7 (85). an hour after that test my bgl was 8.3 (149)!!!
in the past when my BGL has been low (i have measured it as low as 59) - all i do is feel really hungry - no dizziness etc...
so what do you think - did i experience a low or a normal human attack of paranoia?
