NMR LipoProfile?

Hi all,

Does anyone know anything about this blood test? The nurse practitioner ordered this for me and the numbers looked bad.

I talked with my sister (RN, BSN) last night and she had never heard of it.

NMR LipoProfile Test: LDL Cholesterol Masks LDL Particle Number

I was ill when the blood was drawn - does that have an impact on the results?

What do the results really mean?

The NP wants to put my on Niaspan.

I'm really frustrated

because I kicked you know what with my A1C but now my lipids are trashed.

I had a free screening at work in August and my cholesterol was fine.
