Looking for a photo...

of Bayers Glucometer Blood Glucose Meter - first personal blood glucose meter. It came out in 1981. I know someone out there has one they can photograph for me!! Thanks.

Google images returned this. The one in the left upper corner? Man that one brings back memories. Having to wait a min to let the blood 'set in', wiping the blood off with a cotton ball, then a minute to get results.

My first meter was this Ames one, in 1990, I think you only had to wait, 30 seconds to wipe the blood off then you put the strip in the machine and waited some more,lol.

My mom kept my very first glucose meter for a long time. Not sure if she still has it or not. I'll have to ask. Still looking for a pic of my original one. It was made by Ames.

hrm, nope on the meters pics. it was dark grey about the size of a game boy, and the strips stuck up out of the top face of the meter on the right hand side. I think there was only one button on it to turn it on and get it started. It might have had two, but I'm not sure. I most definitely didn't have memory because I was sad when then next meter we got had memory and I couldn't fudge my numbers any longer. *sigh* Thanks for looking Periodically I do a search for it but have yet to find it. one of these days...
